Expending our Territory: Belize
At the beginning of this year, I experienced a profound loss when a dear friend from Belize passed away. She and I had often talked about embarking on a mission to her homeland. Around the same time, my mother expressed a strong desire to visit Belize, and after some deliberation, we decided to go. I knew that if I was going to make this trip, it had to be more than just a visit; it had to be a mission.
After some searching, I found Hope Haven, a children's orphanage in San Pedro. Deciding to partner with them was one of the greatest decisions I’ve ever made. The experience was heartwarming, and the children were amazing, full of love and joy. When God is doing the planning, things align perfectly, and this mission was no exception.
We had the privilege of organizing a beach day and a pizza party for the children. We also provided essential supplies such as diapers, wipes, shoes, sanitary pads, and school supplies. The bonds we created with the children are cherished and unforgettable. We will definitely be back to visit.
One little boy, in particular, formed a special bond with my brother. From the moment they met, they connected instantly and even created a special handshake. Seeing their connection was truly touching.
The older girls at the orphanage also left a significant impact on me. I wanted to give them something they would enjoy and could use to learn a skill for the future. So, we brought nail and hair products for them to practice with.
Belize exceeded all our expectations for our annual Mother’s Day trip. This journey was everything we could have imagined and more. God continues to expand my territory, and I am grateful for the opportunity to serve and make a difference.
We look forward to returning to Hope Haven and continuing to build these beautiful relationships. Our hearts are full, and our spirits are lifted, knowing that we could bring joy and love to these incredible children.
